Q: What materials can NOT be chipped?

A: Root balls or stumps of any kind (roots grow around rocks and rocks damage the chipper); lumber of any kind (nails, and treated or compressed lumber can damage the chipper); any material that contains foreign material (nails, barbed wire fencing, bullets); any material with dirt or rocks on it; material that has been moved with heavy equipment, which leads to embedded dirt and rocks.
