Bill to Protect Flood Mitigation Projects – 5/7/2015

A bill to protect flood mitigation structures installed as part of post-fire recovery work is headed to the governor’s desk.  These structures are critical for protecting lives and property during flood and debris flows intensified by a fire-denuded environment.  Had this bill not passed, one of our most important tools for addressing post-fire flooding and recovery would have been in jeopardy.
