Bailey Area Slash Site

The Coalition for the Upper South Platte (CUSP) is pleased to announce the establishment of a community Slash/Mulch site in Bailey Colorado. This is a joint venture between CUSP and Park County. This site will be an asset to the communities along the Hwy 285 corridor. Loads of slash from individuals will be accepted for a nominal fee and will be open to all local residents. The slash site will open in late Spring of 2016, and operate: Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays – Spring to Fall. This will be a community site, so contractors will not be allowed to bring loads generated from commercial activities, for the time being. Construction will begin on the site soon after the first of the year, as weather permits.

Only slash created by tree thinning will be allowed. No lumber, roots, needles (not attached to branches) or trash will be allowed. Illegal dumping will not be permitted and actively prohibited. Please help us help everyone with this great new, local asset.

The property sits on Colorado State Trust Land and will be accessible through a new entryway and curtained by trees from the surrounding area. We wish to thank the Colorado State Forest Service for their help with this project, as well as Jefferson County Facilities and Construction Management Dept.

CUSP currently operates slashsites in both Divide and Fairplay. More details about what will be accepted and approximate hours may be found at: http://divideslashsite.com/

We hope to see you there soon. We will release more information as our grand opening approaches.
